The US National Information Council in cooperation with the CIA has published the “Map of the Future – 2020.” This project also foresees a possible scenario in which the European Union will fall apart, after which Europe will split into three blocs.
The Western would cost Germany, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Austria, Italy, Spain, the Benelux countries and the Scandinavian countries.
The other Union would be the New Europe whose members, according to the forecasts, are Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Slovenia and Croatia to the south through which the “Catholic Eastern Europe” would have a way out to the Mediterranean. The Americans should have control over this part of Europe.
Eastern Europe, that is, the Orthodox Union will rule Russia, and will consist of Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, but also Bosnia and Herzegovina. When Albania is in question, estimates of the Americans are divided – either Russia with its capital will bring it closer to Eastern Europe or remain under the control of NATO and the United States.
In addition to Russia as a regional power (east), they believe that the EU will soon fall apart into two parts: a richer western part and a group of small countries in central Europe that will militarily “Orthodox union” will no longer exist because of “Orthodox brotherhood,” but will be a “gas union” whose main goal of the formation will be finances.
Can these forecasts be trusted?
Geopolitical experts agree that the time of a multi-polar system comes with several centers of power and that the US and NATO in the indian will not play the leading role in each scene.
We just have to recall last year’s desire of the NATO alliance, such as setting up an anti-missile shield in the Czech Republic and Poland and spreading the Alliance to Georgia and Ukraine. These topics in Washington and Brussels today are almost nonexistent.
In fact, when French politician Emanuel Todd predicted the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1976, 15 years ago that happened, people laughed at him. But today, when it comes to the breakup of the EU after Bregzit, there is no laughter anywhere.
“Nabucco” is on the side
It is more certain that Russia becomes an absolute master of energy. The Nabucco pipeline, a project worth more than a billion euros, which is supposed to reduce the EU’s dependence on Russian gas, has been removed from Brussels’s list of priorities, in the insistence of Angela Merkel.
A deadly blow to this project was made by a recent deal between the Azerbaijani leadership and the Russian tycoon Gazprom, according to which Azerbaijan, expected to become a Nabucco supplier, opted for a gas alliance with Moscow.
