Borisov: The EU should integrate the Western Balkans
The European Union needs to correct the injustices inflicted on the Western Balkans and to integrate the Balkan countries, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said in his address at the Davos World Economic Forum.
“The countries of the Western Balkans are doing everything they need and everything within their forces to respond to their expectations, and we, our neighbors, should also do everything we can to speed up their integration,” Borisov said.
The Bulgarian prime minister added that now, before the accession of the Balkan countries to NATO and the EU, now is the most appropriate moment for the construction of new transport, energy and eco-infrastructure in the region.
Borisov at the Forum in Davos presented the priorities of Bulgaria during its chairmanship with the Council of the European Union.
