In the latest project of the American National Sleep Foundation, 12 medical experts have been involved in exploring in detail the recommendations such as “How many hours of sleep do you need for a good functioning?”

The research involved people of different ages, from newborns to elderly and frail people.

Find out which group you belong to and discover how many hours you should spend an evening, and how many of your children:

Babies up to 3 months:  14 – 17 hours

From 4 to 11 months:  12 – 15 hours

From 1 to 2 years:  11 – 14 hours

From 3 to 5 years:  10 – 13 hours

From 6 to 13 years:  9 – 11 hours

From 14 to 17 years:  8 – 10 hours

From 18 to 25 years:  7 – 9 hours

From 26 to 64 years:  7 – 9 hours

Older than 65 years:  7 – 8 hours
